As well as an extensive range of covers, grates and pits, Covertite also specialises in trash grates.
As the name suggests, trash grates are used to prevent debris and rubbish from being washed into drains. While also providing an accessible collection point for such debris, these trash grates vastly reduce the amount of waste making its way into the streams and river systems in Melbourne and Victoria, which in turn ensures that the rivers — and ultimately the bay and ocean — remain an attractive feature of our landscape and, more importantly, ensure the safety of the wildlife that occupy and rely on these waterways, and their fragile habitats.
Covertite has a range of hinged trash grates. We have four sizes in stock, spanning three different weights, so we will be able to provide you with a grate that suits your needs, whether that is for a stormwater retention pit or other purposes.
Covertite’s trash grates are made from galvanised steel to our high-quality specifications, and its strong construction will ensure solid objects and other debris is captured while allowing water and small, harmless fragments to pass through.
As with all of our other grates and covers, our galvanised steel trash grates are fully compliant with (or exceed) the standards set out in Australian Standard AS3996.
